Internship Program with Darrah & Company 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The internship program with Darrah & Company for summer 2024 will encompass many aspects of learning about how a small business operates. Darrah & Company is a Sales Representative Agency serving the wholesale Gift and Home Industry. This internship will be primarily focused on getting our company ready for the July Market. This Market is very important to the overall success of our company.

The internship would ideally run from June 3 – July 21, 2024. This will be a paid internship. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and able to work independently.

There are 3 major focus areas for the internship:

1. Showroom display, layout, functionality, and presentation
2. Technological readiness for the show
3. Must assist during Market Week from July 15-21st

Descriptions and tasks associated with The Showroom is as follows:

• Work closely with showroom manager and visual designer to execute visual design and showroom layout.
• Fixture assembly and furniture building
• Spatial planning
• Unpacking boxes, sorting and stickering contents.
• Painting walls and/or fixtures
• Problem solving and creative direction

Descriptions and tasks associated with Technological Readiness are as follows:

• Inventory control of hardware
• Software installations and updates
• Document creation of processes for end users
• Digital catalog maintenance – including uploading, hot spotting and
  publishing
• Work closely with IT staff to monitor network and troubleshoot when needed

Descriptions and tasks associated with Market Week are as follows:

• Management of iPads, scanners, and updates for the devices
• Assistance in hospitality, i.e. – set-up/clean-up of special events, restocking drinks, snacks, etc
• Assist with Customer Service and delivery of orders
• Be on call for any situation that arises and may need attention
